nagu kitarrikeeli ja nad on tõesti ülivastupidavad – sild on
kasutuses olnud juba üle 1000 aasta....

Bambusarhitektuurist ei ole päris ammu midagi kuulda olnud. Ükspäev mõtiskledes jõudsin valemini "bambus=kuuselatt" st. pm. võiks suht edukalt Eesti arhitektuuri tuua Aasias levinud bambuskonstruktsioonid.
Kuuselatti saab maapiirkondades tänaseni vabalt osta - olen seda ise näit. "Hiiu lehe" vahendusel teinud. Kuuselatt on odav, tugev ja väga vastupidav materjal.
Kuuselatt/kadakalatt-konstruktsiooni uskumatut tugevust ja vastupidavust Eestis tõestab Jaan Alliksoo 31,4 m kõrgune Reigi Eiffel. Torn on üle-elanud mitmeid torme ja muidu tugevaid tuuli. Lisaks on Jaan tornile teinud 1,5 tonni liivakottidega proovikoormamise. Eraldi tasuks veel ära märkida ehitamise kiirust/efektiivsust - Jaan püstitas torni üksi (ja töö kõrvalt?) 4 kuuga. ... igatepidi maksimaalne tulemus minimaalsete vahenditega :))
Ehitusloa puudumine & inseneridest ekspertide negatiivsed hinnangud on omaette teema. Korrektselt seadusi järgides ja konstruktsioone läbi arvutades on võimalik kuuselatiga ka legaalseid ehitisi püstitada.

Näitena lisan foto teostamata kuuselattkonstruktsioonis eksperimentaal-paviljonist Kütiorgu. Idee oli ehitada metsa mingi ööbimispaik/metsaonn kasutades kohalikke materjale + leida mingi seos sellest tuleneva omapärase vormi ja funktsiooni vahel. Valik jäi kandekonstruktsioonis kuuselatile ja seinakattel laastule.
Sisu: 1 korrusel suurem ruum küttepuudele, jalgratastele, 2 korrusel midagi köögi/kabineti moodi, 3k magamine / vaateplatvorm.

in vietnam. due to the area being prone to flooding the firm created an architectural model
that addresses low cost materials, high speed construction and ease of transport. in order
to help residents in the flood-stricken areas to build temporary houses, tents, school classrooms, businesses such as cafes, bars and resorts, the model of wind and water bar (wnw bar)
was proposed in the initial design by vo trang nghia co. ltd.
wnw bar is a structural bamboo arch system spanning 10m in height and 15m in length.
the main frame is made from 48 units of bamboo elements. materials using for the roof covering
are the sheets that made from the leaves having the high resistance in fire. bamboo trees are
popularly grown in many places in vietnam.
the wnw bar is located in the centre of thu dau mot, binh duong province in the southern region
of vietnam. this area will become a cultural center for the local residents.the construction site is
located in the man-made lake, using the natural wind energy together with the cool water from
the lake to make the natural air-ventilation. on the top of roof, there is a hole with diameter of
1.5m functioning to release hot air out.
the wnw bar was built by local workers in duration of 3 months (from october 2007 to january
2008).
vo trang nghia co. ltd's wnw bar was a shortlisted entry in the categories of civic and community, interiors and fit out and structural design at the world architecture festival 09.

this bamboo greenhouse has been proposed and constructed in response to the need for a greenhouse
in raising and managing plants, through a joint development project applying the hydroponics method
of growing crops using no soil.
its bamboo structure utilizes connector design and the attributes of the materials themselves
to achieve a simple structure that anybody can build on their own, with no need for any
special skills or materials.
it also secures sufficient green house space for growing crops. in addition, in light of the abandonment
and growth of bamboo forests, which has become a topic of concern in society in recent years,
it uses phyllostachys pubescens bamboo from forest thinning activities as its main structural material,
enabling renewable use of bamboo materials.

hand-built in four months by architects, local craftsmen, pupils, parents and teachers,
this primary school in rudrapur, a village in north west bangladesh, uses traditional
methods and materials of construction but adapts them in new ways. the architects,
anna aeringer from austria and eike roswag from germany, made every effort to engage
the skills of local craftsmen, helping them refine processes and learn new techniques
that they could then use to improve the general standard of rural housing.

'truss me' is a sustainable furniture system developed my indian designer sandeep sangaru.
designboom promotes the use of bamboo in the fields of architecture and design and we
asked sandeep to document his ongoing bamboo project for our readers.
the concept behind the collection explores new construction possibilities with solid bamboo poles -
strictus dendocalmus - and splits, using modular forms and lamination joints for new applications.

the strong fibers of bamboo can withstand compression and tensile loads.
using the properties of the fibers, 'truss me' was developed on a technique of splitting
and laminating the poles with another strip of split bamboo. when the glue cures,
the laminated module acts like a truss.
the 'truss me' protoypes were developed with the help of a group of artisans in the village of sankhela,
tripura, india, a region which has an abundant bamboo resource, cultivated in organized plantations
by local farmers.
all of the products are completely handcrafted. the components used for construction are modular
and repetitive, and can be produced in batches by a group of craftsmen. the equipment involved
for production are basic hand tools. through a modular system of jigs, fixtures and templates,
the construction elements were quickly realized and also maintained a formal consistency and quality
to the individual components. the furniture has been designed to use locally resourced bamboo
and skills in a sustainable fashion.
